I baked a cake! I saw the recipe on a jar of syrup for ginger cakes so I bought the ingredients and gave it a shot. The tin was too small, or I made too much mixture, so it spilled out the sides. Even so, it's come out delicious. Not dry like the other ginger cakes I've eaten in the past tend to be. Now the whole house now smells of ginger and mixed spices.
I want to experiment with cooking because I like the way you can alter the ingredients yourself. For this cake I was supposed to buy some root ginger but I forgot. But I did buy some ready-cut ginger pieces, so I used those instead. I also threw some half-cut walnuts on the top.
