Cutting Edge CSS

Stuart Nicholls has revamped his website Cutting Edge CSS. There you'll find some great CSS menu demos along with a stunning collection of CSS art. Take a look at this example:
You won't believe it but the snowman was made purely with CSS! Text characters were used to create the fine details. Great work. But what's even more amazing is that the holly was also made with CSS! It puts my demos to shame!
The only problem with using text this way is that it may look incorrect on different computers and browsers. As an example, if I enlarge the text size in my browser the images break up. Plus if I didn't have the same fonts on my machine as Stuart used, I would probably see a different image again.
Even so, I think Stuart has taken CSS to a new level. Here's another example from his website, which I was convinced was made with images:

No images used at all - just CSS!
