    Most odd.

The first time I tried using Firefox I got through without any problem.
So I tried again and got your error message.

    Tried once more without problem.

are they saying that they cannot provide a secure connection based on simply the user-agent string?

No-one should be telling anyone what browser to use. They should make sure their site is coded to the current specs, and that it works in ALL the major browsers.

Peter-Paul Koch explains on his site why browser detection scripts should never be used:

I will laugh when IE7 comes out and all these "IE6 only" sites fail to work.

It still does not work for linux users of Opera or Firefox. Reports an incompatible OS.
